The Kannada Dancers Association one of the wings of 13 associations in Kannada film industry is on a silent protest. The members of the association are on protest for wage hike. That is OK. They are sitting in front of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and continue till tomorrow morning the silent protest wearing black dress.

Is this a novel protest! Yes. Throughout the night they are not sitting on a protest dharna in front of Karnataka Film chamber of commerce but for a few more hours late in the hight. The meeting at KFCC failed at 6 pm. The dancers are sitting on Dharna till then when we reached the spot at 11 pm.

The demand is 50 percent hike for dancers daily wage. it was in 2006 the wage was hiked. It is around Rs.850 per day per person. The facility given to outside dancers should be extended to dancers from Karnataka emphasises Rajesh Brahmavar, President of the association.
